Needed Tools:
All ingredients Citric Acid, Baking Soda, Corn Starch, Cream of Tartar, Mica Colorant, Poly 80, Sweet Almond Oil/Carrier Oil of your choice, Essential oils, & Witch Hazel
Equipment: Bath Bomb Molds, Measuring cup, 2 mixing bowls, Sifter, Whisk, & Spray bottle, & Non-Latex gloves (I use an Electric Mixer, but you can do all this by hand as well.)
**Optional Ingredients: Epsom Salts/Dead Sea Salts, Magnesium Flakes, SLS/Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate, and Dry Whole Milk
Steps:
Put measured Citric acid in a bowl and push off to the side for later.
Add witch hazel to spray bottle.
In the other bowl sift baking powder, corn starch and all other dry ingredients together. (Wait on Colorant)
Add liquid ingredients together with Essential Oils in the measuring cup. This is also where infusions/medicine are added to the liquid.
Spray the dry ingredients with the witch hazel while stirring until mixture is holding a shape in your hand (like damp sand).
Add colorant and stir well-evenly disperse the color in the damp mixture.
Add wet ingredients and mix well.
Add Citric Acid.
Gently press your bomb mixture into each half of the bomb molds. Overfill the molds so the mixture creates hills in each half. Push each mold hills together.
Set aside and allow time for drying. (This can differ depending on your location and size of the bomb.)
Tip: If you have never made a bath bomb before I recommend watching my video tutorial here on this site it includes my recipe.
