Castile Soap and Vinegar Don't Mix
When customizing your recipes do not try to mix Castile soap and vinegar. Yes they are both great natural cleansers; the acidity of the vinegar will cause the soap to congeal.
Does this recipe call for Vodka???Why?
Vodka is great at helping water and oils mix as well as a great cleansing agent. If this isn't OK for you personally you can also use witch hazel or rubbing alcohol. Note: neither of these are better but will work as a substitute, the alcohol will smell strong but it does evaporate, and the witch hazel just doesn't work as well at dispersing the EO's throughout the product you are making.
TEST SPOT always, First
Anytime you are testing a new recipe; it is best to pick a small discrete area. This is to avoid damage to surfaces etc. Always test it first.
Be Creative. Make your own cleaning blend and use it throughout your products To make your whole house smell clean. Good Luck.
